Former Board of Control for Cricket in India chief Jagmohan Dalmiya was arrested on Wednesday on charges of misappropriation of over Rs 2.90 crore of the cricket body's funds, but immediately released on bail of Rs 25,000. Dalmiya was granted bail as per the provisions of a high court order, which granted him anticipatory bail over two years ago, his lawyer Satish Maneshinde said.
Actor Sanjay Dutt was released from Pune's Yeravada jail on Thursday morning. Dutt's lawyer Satish Maneshinde visited Yeravada jail at around 8.30 am with the relevant papers and delivered them to the jail authorities. He was accompanied by Dutt's former secretary Pankaj Kharbanda. The actor was released at approximately 9.50 am and he is likely to take a chartered flight back to Mumbai. Dutt sentenced to six years imprisonment under the Arms Act.

As many as 18 arrests have been made in the cruise ship raid case so far.

Even as the Bombay high court has granted bail to actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, who was arrested in the drugs-on-cruise case, his lawyers will have to wait till they get the high court's operative order for taking further steps towards securing his release from jail.

In a letter addressed to Nupur Sharma, heading the CBI's special team, Chakraborty said her neighbour Dimple Thawani had falsely claimed that Rajput had dropped her (Chakraborty) to her house in suburban Mumbai in his car on June 13, a day before he was found hanging at his residence in Bandra.
Opposing the NCB's remand extension plea, Aryan Khan's lawyer Satish Maneshinde said his client was not connected with any of the other accused.
